Why is this service needed?
The older adult population is expected to grow to over 75 million by the year of 2035. Research has shown that older adults prefer to age in place. This means they prefer to age from the comforts of their own home. As a result, health care has begun to transition offering more home-based care. This had led to more home-based services being provided and more community-based health care centers that allow for easy access to care. While there may be programs within the community that focus on health and fitness for older adults, they do not address the population of older adults who have a low level of mobility and no transportation.  This growth in the older adult population has also resulted in more focus on preventative care. My business will assist in joining the focus of preventative care. By focusing on overall function, older adults will be able to reduce health risk, function independently, and increase quality of life.
The recent Covid pandemic has also caused an increase in home-based care along with a focus on the health and risk of the nation’s older adult population.  The pandemic has caused an increase of fear and change within the community and health care establishments. As a result, is it pertinent that older adults stay mobile and active, as it has been shown to have a direct correlation to health risk and recovery.
